program new building as extension of an existing one, office planning and interior design of both

size 6000 sqm

The existing building was quite big and had an important depth and had its central area occupied by an oversized air conditioning plant room.
Our effort was to give the building the construction rule and the “centre” that lacked in the original design.
We consequently removed the plant room splitting the machine in a series of rooftops equipments and organized the plan on the cross of two axes, a typical roman cardus / decumanus founding scheme.
One of the axes contains accesses and lobbies with external-interface facilities, the other axe contains garden patios, coffees, meeting rooms and general internal facilities.
Apart these two fixed items all the space (and the plants outlets) is modulated in order to assure a maximum of flexibility to the users.
