The design process of the new building was strongly influenced by the galvanized sheet’s widespread presence in Brazil.
This material is largely used for basic residential or for industrial buildings, but it is generally not appreciated at all in office buildings.
We were already very charmed by the aesthetic qualities of the material, but when we found out the roof building process, based on a direct-on-site modelling of the sheet unrolling from the coil on a truck, we decided that we had to use this system.
The idea was to make a tunnel in galvanized steel and to pose underneath the offices glass building.
The galvanized sheet roof has generous overhangs to protect the glass façade from the sun and a series of inclined rain pipes for the abundant seasonal rains.
